President and Practice Manager 

As a co-founder of Eggleston & Eggleston, Rich has served as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer since its inception in 1995.  Rich has extensive experience in the field of medical practice management, and he has established a reputation in the local and regional community as an advocate for physicians and medical service providers. He is a member of the company’s management team, and he is actively involved in every aspect of the day-to-day operations.

Rich began his professional career at KPMG, an international accounting firm, where he served as a supervising senior accountant. After KPMG, he managed multiple hospital-based physician groups at a national medical practice management firm.

Rich earned his Bachelor of Business Science degree in 1990 from Virginia Tech. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

patPatricia E. Eggleston, MA
Consultant  

As a co-founder of Eggleston & Eggleston, Patricia began her service with the company in 1995 as Vice President and Director of Financial Services. Patricia has extensive experience in the fields of accounting, tax, and business management services. She is highly regarded by her clients as knowledgeable, ethical and attentive to detail. In recent years, she has served as a Consultant and is primarily responsible for the company’s internal accounting, personnel, and compliance functions.

Patricia began her professional career at KPMG, an international accounting firm, where she served as a supervising senior accountant. After KPMG, she served as a senior accountant at Brown, Edwards & Company, a regional accounting firm. She holds a part-time teaching position at Roanoke College and has instructed Accounting, Tax and Personal Finance courses.

Patricia received her Master of Accountancy degree in 1991 from Virginia Tech and her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Roanoke College in 1989. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Rose B. Williamson, CPA:
Director of Financial Services

Rose joined Eggleston & Eggleston in 2001 and serves as the company’s Director of Financial Services. Rose is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department, and she is directly responsible for the the timely coordination and completion of the monthly client reporting process. She is respected by her staff and peers and is highly regarded by her clients as trustworthy and extremely competent.

Prior to joining Eggleston & Eggleston, Rose served as the Controller for multiple assisted living facilities at American Health Care and as a senior accountant at Brown, Edwards & Company, a regional accounting firm. Rose has over 25 years of experience in accounting and the healthcare industry.

Rose earned her Bachelor of Business Science degree in 1989 from Virginia Tech. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Rebecca L. Jones, CPA:
Assistant Director of Financial Services

After completing an internship with Eggleston & Eggleston in 2003 during her senior year of college, Becky accepted a full-time position upon her graduation. She serves as the company’s Assistant Director of Financial Services. Becky is responsible for the management of her clients, and she assists the Financial Services Director with the operations of the Accounting Department. She is respected by management and her peers. Becky is an extremely competent accountant and is highly regarded by her clients as service oriented, trustworthy, and willing to go the extra mile.

Becky earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2003 from Radford University. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Kathryn A. Peters:
Billing System Manager

As our Billing System Manager, Kathy is responsible for the daily operations of the Billing Department. Her responsibilities include management of staff members and all aspects related to the timely processing of medical claims.

Kathy joined Eggleston & Eggleston in 2003 as an accounts receivable clerk. Her hard work and commitment to the company enabled her to grow with the company. Prior to joining Eggleston & Eggleston, Kathy spent 18 years with Anthem, where she gained experience in medical claims processing, customer service and quality control. Kathy is respected by her peers and her staff, and she is dedicated to the efficient and effective operation of her department and the company as a whole.

Dawn F. Richardson:
Orthopedic Team Leader

Dawn is our Orthopedic Team Leader, and she is responsible for the day-to-day management of the orthopedic teams.

Dawn joined Eggleston & Eggleston in 2008, bringing extensive experience related to medical billing. Dawn’s resume includes a 10-year employment with Anthem BCBS, where she was responsible for customer service and other insurance-related duties. Dawn is extremely customer service oriented, and she believes in going the extra mile.

Dawn is a Certified Medical Transcriptionist.

7Christina Lewis:
Urology Team Leader

Christina is our Urology Team Leader and is responsible for managing the urology team and client relationships.

Christina joined Eggleston & Eggleston in 2007. She began her 20 plus year career in medical billing with the 18th Medical Group at Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan. Living and working abroad has given her a dynamic skill set, including the ability to set a professional tone for her co-workers. Christina has worked with a variety of specialties including cardiology, radiology, obstetrics/gynecology, and urology.

A graduate of the University of Maryland, University College of Asia and Ashford University with a Bachelor of Arts in English, Christina is currently working on her Master’s dissertation on the life and works of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known as Lewis Carroll. Christina is a member of PEN America, a literary freedom organization.

Kelly McFadyen, CPC:
Coding Manager

As our Coding Manager, Kelly is responsible for all coding efforts and the electronic transfer of data.

Kelly joined Eggleston & Eggleston in 2011 and has been coding since 2003. Kelly has additional experience in the areas of sports medicine, rheumatology, radiology, pain management, anesthesia, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, urology, gynecology, podiatry, dermatology, family practice, neurology, and urgent care. Kelly is well-versed in the medical policies for most insurances, which adds to her accuracy and efficiency in coding.

Kelly is a member of the local and national chapters of the American Association of Professional Coders, and she has been a Certified Professional Coder through AAPC since 2007.

Amanda Coughlin:
Credentialing Manager

Amanda joined the Eggleston & Eggleston team in 2016. As our Credentialing Manager, she coordinates the credentialing requirements of our clients and assists with insurance contract negotiations and accreditation. Amanda has a great relationship with insurance representatives and clients alike. She is dedicated to efficiently managing multiple client duties with diligence and exacting attention.

Amanda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics as Salutatorian from Roanoke College. She has also completed several graduate courses in Statistics at Virginia Tech. While in graduate school at Virginia Tech, Amanda assisted in the statistical analysis for various research projects while working for the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis (LISA) and also worked as a teaching assistant. Her educational background and research work in the field of statistics lends a uniquely qualified perspective to in-depth analysis of our clients’ contracting process.

In her spare time, Amanda enjoys tutoring and volunteering at local youth centers.

Sherry Viars:
Facilities Manager

Sherry joined Eggleston & Eggleston in 2017. She coordinates the data exchange between our clients and our business associates. She has an extensive background in the insurance industry with over 30 years’ experience. She supports our billing, accounting and coding departments.

Sherry is native to the Roanoke valley, and has been married to Martin Viars for 29 years. Most of her spare time is spent with her husband, two daughters, grandsons or a good book.

Morgan Brown:
Orthopedics and Psychiatry Team Leader

Morgan is our Plastic Surgery and Family Practice Team Leader and is responsible for team and client relations. 

Morgan joined Eggleston & Eggleston in 2016. She has six years of experience in the medical industry over many medical specialties.  She is service oriented and always goes the extra mile.  She received an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Virginia Western Community College as well as a career studies certificate in Medical Coding.

In her spare time, Morgan enjoys spending time with family and going on road trips.

Paula Shively:
Anesthesiology Billing Manager

Paula originally joined the Eggleston & Eggleston team in 1995. She left the firm to work for an anesthesiology client for over ten years and rejoined our team in 2017. As our Anesthesiology Billing Manager, she coordinates the billing and compliance efforts of all of our anesthesiology clients.

Paula has 24 years of medical billing experience with 16 years specializing in Anesthesia.  Paula is well versed in all aspects of anesthesia billing.  She is service oriented has a great relationship with insurance representatives and patients.

betBetty J. Butler, CPC:
Anesthesiology Coder

As our Anesthesiology Coder, Betty is responsible for all anesthesiology coding and the electronic transfer of data.

Betty joined Eggleston & Eggleston in 2008. Betty has additional experience in the areas of pain management, dermatology, radiology, orthopedic surgery, podiatry, otolaryngology, urologic surgery, and ob-gyn. Betty is well-versed in the medical policies for most insurances, which adds to her accuracy and efficiency in coding.

Betty earned her Career Studies Certificate in Health Records Coding from Virginia Western Community College in 2008. She is a Certified Professional Coder through AAPC and a member of the local and national chapters of the American Association of Professional Coders.

Leslie A. Coleman, CPC:
Surgical Coder

As our Surgical Coder, Leslie is responsible for all surgical coding and the electronic transfer of data.

Leslie joined Eggleston & Eggleston in 2006. Leslie has additional experience in the areas of anesthesiology and pain management, dermatology, radiology, orthopedic surgery, podiatry, otolaryngology, urologic surgery, rheumatology, and ob-gyn. Leslie is well-versed in the medical policies for most insurances, which adds to her accuracy and efficiency in coding.

Leslie earned her Medical Coding and Billing diploma from National Business College. She is a member of the local and national chapters of the American Association of Professional Coders, and she has been a Certified Professional Coder through AAPC since 2006.

Alicia Scala, CPC:
Multi-specialty Coding

Alicia is a Medical Coder responsible for multiple specialties and has worked accounts receivable for a variety of our clients.

After interning in the fall of 2014, Alicia joined Eggleston & Eggleston in 2015 to work in accounts receivable. She received her Career Studies Certificate in Medical Coding from Virginia Western Community College in 2015. Alicia is a Certified Professional Coder through the AAPC since 2016.

Allison Scala, CPC:
OB/GYN and ENT Team Leader

As our OB/GYN and ENT Team Leader, Allison is responsible for coding in all areas of OB/GYN and ENT, as well as electronic transfer of data.

After an internship in the fall of 2014, Allison was hired on full time at Eggleston & Eggleston. Allison received her Career Studies Certificate from Virginia Western Community College in 2015 and is a Certified Professional Coder through he AAPC since 2016. Since working at Eggleston & Eggleston, Allison has been cross-trained in multiple specialties in coding and billing. She enjoys researching and learning the constantly changing coding and billing policies.

Debbie Rice Certified Professional CoderDebbie Rice, RN, CPC:
Multi-specialty Coder

As our multi-specialty coder, Debbie is responsible for all areas of medical coding and the electronic transfer of data.

Debbie was a registered nurse for 29 years with experience in Pediatrics, Mother-Baby and Home Health. She decided to go back to school to earn a Certificate in Coding in July 2018. She enjoys the business side of medicine as a medical coder and utilizes her nursing knowledge to code accurately. Debbie loves to learn and keep current in her nursing and coding knowledge.

In her free time, Debbie enjoys spending time with her four awesome boys and husband, as well as camping, canoeing and flyfishing.

Layton Bourhill:
Plastic Surgery & Family Practice Team Leader

Layton joins Eggleston and Eggleston as Plastic Surgery & Family Practice Team Leader

Layton was exposed to healthcare through his dad, who is a physician. He felt that the administrative side was better suited to his skills. He enjoys working with amazing people and making a difference for both doctors and patients. Layton earned a degree in Health Services Administration from James Madison University in 2018 and performed two summer internships with Eggleston and Eggleston.

In his spare time, Layton enjoys spending time with his family of two younger sisters, three dogs and three cats, reading and traveling. He also has a passion for old muscle cars, new exotics and everything in between.
